What a busy few months it has been here at Marks Clearing & Grading. The City of Hephzibah has accomplished a major milestone by being approved for a new charter school by the State of Georgia. The timber on the school site has been cut, and Marks Clearing has just completed digging stumps and preparing the property for site work. The school is set to open for the 2015-2016 school year. Those of us that are life-long Hephzibah residents are very proud of this new addition to our community.
On a sentimental note, as one new school is being built in the community, another one is being demolished. Floyd Graham School located on Windsor Spring Road has been a part of the Hephzibah community since 1949. Marks Demolition & Environmental Group was awarded the contract and has begun the demolition of the school. This is a very special landmark for many people in the area and past alumni have come out to the school to pay homage before it is gone.
The south side of Augusta continues to revitalize. Marks Clearing & Grading is proud to play a part in the construction of new businesses by providing roll-off services. Planet Fitness on Windsor Spring Road has recently opened and Krispy Kreme Donuts on Peach Orchard Road is scheduled to open later this month. If you have been down Belair Road over the last couple of months, you have probably seen our containers at the new Walmart that is under construction. Off Wheeler Road, you can see our containers at the new townhomes that are going up in Dunnington.
As the holidays come upon us, The Marks Clearing family wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas. We pray that everyone will take the opportunity to enjoy time with their family and loved ones, and reflect on the true reason for the season…the celebration of our Savior’s birth. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16.
